Saving Our Heritage (SOH) is nothing more or less than a small nonprofit Swiss association founded in 1993 in Burgdorf (Berthoud) with the objective to restore and renew monuments of cultural and historical heritage in Czech republic. The majority of these monuments such as churches, hospices, presbyteries, chapels or other historical buildings in public use have been in a dilapidated state after 40 years of the communist power and have been sometimes voluntarily neglected for decades. Even nowadays, when the state still doesn’t possess sufficient funds and is concerned mainly with its urgent economic development, large segments of the population are still not aware of the value of their cultural heritage.
